Mortal Kombat 1992 is one of the first fighting games that I played. I played this game as a kid often on the SNES. The SNES version is different the PC version. Lately, I’ve been playing the PC version on GOG.com.
The graphics didn’t age all that well, but it is fun game to play. The PC version does look a little better the SNES version. This game started the ratings for games and started the controversy. This game was the first game that had blood & gore in a video game. The SNES version was more family friendly, but the PC version isn’t. The game does look a little more like Street Fighter II, but there are some differences. This game used live action image instead pixel animations. That was pretty cool that Midway used actors to use in a video game back then.
The gameplay is much harder than Street Fighter II is. It is hard to do combo, special powers, and hard to do the fatalities moves. The sound is pretty good for a old game and even the soundtrack to this game is damn good. I like how you can hear punches, blood splatter, and characters yelling. That was pretty cool. Overall, I like Street Fighter II better than this game, but the MK 2011 is better than this game and the ones on the MK’s game on the PS2. Those were pretty good. This game is pretty good, but I think the other games were better than this game. If you want to play this game, you can find this game on gog.com, and it had 3 games instead of one.
