Take a trip back to the days of the Wild West in The Golden Years: Way Out West, and help sweet pioneer woman become a gold mining tycoon in order to pay off her husband’s debts to a greedy investor. The game starts off with a story told to us by the woman herself, and how she went from dire straits to become the success she became many years later.

So, the story goes, she and her husband were working the general store in a frontier settlement, and enjoyed the job so much, that they were able to buy the store with the help of the town’s richest man. Everything was fine for a few weeks, until their investor wanted paid back with interest. With her man in debtor’s jail, it is up to the savvy pioneer to get the money together to pay that slick and slimy snake back. She is given an old train car by a dear friend, and sets back east to Appalachia to start finding gold in them thar hills, and this paves the way for one of the most enjoyable strategy builders I have come across in quite some time.

We hire workers, build homesteads, water towers, mine gold, process timber, build train stations and more as we bring new life to our little mining towns. New timed challenges come with each level, and building little mining towns does not come easy. Our little lady is determined to get her wronged man back into society and teach that greedy ol’ slimeball a thing or two. So, if you are itchin’ to see a Western, which there are too few good ones made these days, then download The Golden Years: Way Out West, and have a helluva hoedown this weekend.
