Spyglass Entertainment has one hell of a hit on their hands with J.J. Abrams reboot of Star Trek. It just doesn’t get better then this with high action, more action then we have ever seen in any of the Star Trek Films. This will be the one Trek film that you will be watching again and again for years to come. We still have all our favorite characters, they are just all brand new and slightly different and different in all the best ways. Voyage Home was one of the more humorous movies of the Star Trek films. It was full of laughter and yet at the same time was serious about the ecological and social problems of the time. This film took the series into a new direction where they were not trying to please the critics but they were trying to please the fans. A movie that said this is Trek and we make it our own way and the fans will love us for it. Guess what, the fans did love them for it and have continued to do so for the last 32 years.
In the last film Spock was reunited with himself, if you do not get that then see the movie Star Trek III The Search For Spock, and now he is traveling to Earth to stand as a witness for his friends. As they are traveling home a probe of unknown origin is crossing both Klingon and Federation place on a course for Earth. No one knows how to stop it, all the ships that go near it are dead in space and it is left to the crew of the Enterprise. In a beat up old Klingon scout ship the crew has to time travel to the past to save the day, but can they find some humpback whales in time? The second of the Star Trek films for the big screen feature the acting talents of William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and DeForest Kelley as the main stars Kirk, Spock and Bones. The villain of the film is the one villain that most if not all Star Trek fans know is Khan played by Ricardo Montalban. From the original series they could not have picked a better person to be the rival to that of Kirk.
Khan is a byproduct of 20th century genetic engineering and was found by the Enterprise drifting in space in an old sleeper ship that had been launched in the last part of the 1990’s. Yes, at the time they thought we were all going to kill ourselves by then but of course we didn’t, but that is part of the Star Trek universe and can not be un made, so live with it, this is science fiction. In the original series Khan and his crew as well as one member of the Enterprise crew were set down on Ceti Alpha 5 which was later thought to have been destroyed.
