Fun Factor:★☆☆☆☆

I’ve always been big fan of history, and even more of natural history. I was one of those kids that was always checking out the books on dinosaurs from the school library. So, when I saw this cute little match 3 game based on earthly evolution, Evolver, I was curious enough to take a chance on it.

So, I boot it up, and there is a listing of the stages the game progresses through. We start in the sea with a grid of low level phylum Protozoa, little amoeba bubbles, and when we come up with a match, our cells evolve into what looks to be a sponge, or maybe coral, then a match 3 of those becomes some kind of annelid, and those become a shelled mollusk, then those become starfish, and somehow, the starfish devolve back into jellyfish…. what? That progression never came up in my middle school biology class! Anyway, the undersea progressions was about as far as I got, because it took so long to go up the scale, that within the hour trial, I never got to the land-based animals. A shame, because I was really looking forward to the dinosaurs. It just took far too long to get where you needed to be to get to the next level, so on my little grid planet, life never got out of the water.
