Sniglet Of The DayMediamnesia (n)That feeling you get when inundated by so many mixed messages from so many media, that you can’t remember what happened from one week to the next. You also can’t seem to remember what happened to you five years ago, or even before that, but somehow you survived long enough to get to where you are now.

So many messages, so many places and names and outlets, news networks, and so many other forms of information and entertainment, it is a wonder the average North American person can remember it all, but some of us are suffering from mediamnesia, or so the companies that run these places hope. We are scanning our phones at every stop, hoping to get a clue on what or whom might be important this day, when they or it might not even matter a week from now. Sadly, that’s the way they want us to do things. From season to season, from sports to fashion, to regular TV shows and movies, we forget so quickly, it seems as though some kind of evil spell has been placed on us, but we have no Rememberall to help us look back. Hopefully, some of us do come our senses and recall the events listed in Bill Joel’s song “We Didn’t Start the Fire” , but the further away from that timeline that we go, the more and more mediamnesia sticks around, and it is a scary place to be.
