Recipes_From_The_FridgeWell, I’m sure we’ve all felt the clipper this week, but here is something sweet and warm from Musings to help you heat up this weekend

Maple Blondie

8oz hot coffee
1 tsp maple syrup
1 tsp sugar
Dash of vanilla extract
2 tsp half and half
1 shot of silver rum

How to mix this is very simple. You will first pour the half and half into the mug then add the maple, the vanilla, and the sugar to the half and half. Pour half the coffee you are going to use into the mix, the add your rum, and then stir in to rest of the coffee. A simpler recipe there could not be for a cold winter’s day or any day of the year!

Sniglet Of The DayBuffle – n. The Butter trapped in a squaffle of a waffle

Thanksgiving is just a couple of days away, and we know those of you whom are cooking the feast will most likely be making those sweet crispy treats for breakfast that day. Everyone loves waffles, especially with real butter. Mo’ butter… mo’ better! Every one of those little squaffles will be filled with buffles, that is, until you and your clan drowns them in maple syrup or honey. No matter, since there will most likely be enough batter to make even more waffles to scarf down on while the kids watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, or whatever parade happens to be more popular this year. These days, waffles can sometimes be as much of a feast as the big turkey dinner you will be cooking or devouring around two o’clock later that day, before you settle in for an evening of football or five card draw. So get the kids all sugared up on Thanksgiving morning, then boot them out the door to go play hard and work it all off. They are not the ones whom you will have to be shooing from the kitchen. How you keep the other relatives from taste-testing and adding their unwanted advice is up to you.
