When a game title has the word “artifacts” in it, get ready for a treasure hunt. In this game, you play as a treasure hunter that finds that there is a path linking many nations to the nation of Atlantis, and you play through many levels of mahjongg solitaire to find them. You go from China, to sites in what was once Babylon and Ancient Greece, to Mexico various Mesoamerican cultures, only to end up dealing with the alien Atlanteans, and they are not too pleased with you invading their secret turf.

While this game plays like the classic mahjongg in most aspects, there are some differences. You can click certain tiles in a suit to remove any tile that is open in that suit, or a special tile that will take off every open tile you click on once you choose the tiles you want removed. This game moved a little faster than I would have liked for a mahjongg adventure, but on the upside, they made a sequel, Mahjongg Artifacts: Chapter 2, which is much better and has more global cultural references.
