Cube Farm (kyub-fahrm) np. An office filled with cubicles.
Not having worked at at an office, I don’t think I have actually seen a cube farm, except for in the movies, but they seem to look like some kind of maze. the closest I have have ever really been to a Cube Farm has to be at the Royal Manor Elementary School library, where they divided up reading tables with some kind of tabletop dividers to keep our attention to the books we were reading when they attempted to teach us speed reading. (Do schools even teach that any more? Well, it was the 70s.) So, since the 90s, we now have cube farms in our nation’s high-rise buildings, filled with white collar workers doing whatever it is they do, but can this place really be called a farm? It seems that the only produce that comes from a cube farm is software bugs and high stress-levels, but not having even worked the land of a cube farm, perhaps there is some kind of planting going on there we don’t know of. If anyone out there can tell us what the real purpose of a cube farm is, will you let us know?
