Stronghold Kingdoms Online

Stronghold-Kingdoms-OnlineThe online version of the popular 2d/3d isometric castle games imagined by Firefly Studios. It is a turn based and yet a RTS at the same time. It is one of the better castle defense and attack games that is out there with both free and paid memberships to keep you building castles until the wee hours of the night or morning.

This game is truly addictive as you start from nothing more than a Village Idiot to that of a king of an entire region. You start your Stronghold life with nothing more than a small keep which you then have to manage. You have to see to the needs of your subjects but also the safety of them as well. You do this by placing buildings in your village that will help to maintain it as well as provide resources to both build with and trade with. As you build up your resources you are able to build your castle which defends your village. Much time is going to be spent building and maintaining that thing, so make sure you always have resources on hand, especially have a bandit or player attack.

Champions: On Alert

Champions Online has had a make over and is now free to play and hosted by Perfect World. Originally coded and made by Cryptic we now have the MMO that is free to play and actually quite fun to play as well. From the time that you log in to the time you log out you do have fun with the characters that you make. Even making a character is fun to do and you could spend an hour or more just doing that. The hardest part of the game was waiting for the game to download and then patch itself. For those with very VERY fast download speeds it wont take you long but those with slow DSL will be waiting a while as when I downloaded the game it was 3 and a half gigs and the patch was 256 megs. Even after patching the game still is loading areas and textures in the background which might give you a few hick-ups now and then but nothing that will get your character killed as you play.

Star Trek Online Free To Play

Star Trek Online Free To PlayI received an invitation to try out Star Trek Online Free To Play on the 19th of January and was excited to try it out. It will not matter how much you want to play you will need to be patient as you will have at least a 24 hour download no matter how good your speed is. My download was consistently at 24 to 32 KB/s and it is a 3668MB download. Another bad thing about the downloader is that it mucks up your internet connection for the entire time that it is downloading so that you are not able to do much of anything on the net as it downloads. That is something they really need to get fixed and fixed fast. I hope PerfectWorld and Cryptic will make that a priority in patches to come. Till then you are just going to have to be patient and just wait it out while not doing anything meaningful on the net or anything that is connected to that router as it affects everything connected to the main connect to the net.

Review: Kitsu Saga

Kitsu Saga - Free MMORPG at Aeria Games
Gameplay:★★★☆☆
Graphics:★★★★☆
Sound:★★★★☆
Value:★★★½☆
Fun Factor:★★★¾☆
Overall:★★★¾☆

Kitsu Saga is a new game from Aeria Games. The game takes place in an oriental setting where you are a young warrior who is on a quest to save the realm. Along the way you receive familiar spirits called Kitsu. Kitsu are a fox like nature spirit that will bond with the warrior to help them along with their quests. As you the player become more powerful so does the spirits that you can befriend.

The game system uses mostly click and move with some key pressing for various actions. It is a fun and entertaining game as well as F2P, free to play. You could easily spend hours in this game just wondering around and looking at things. In the earlier levels mostly what you have to attack are mostly docile creatures that don’t attack until you attack them. This allows you to get used to the controls and learn the gaming system at your own pace.

Review: Vindictus

There is a new MMO that has recently come out of beta that is pretty good and fun to play. The name of the game is Vindictus published by Nexon. Right now there are servers in Korea and North America with European servers to be added by the end of the year. If you want to check out the game for yourself you can head over to http://vindictus.nexon.net/ and download it for free.

The premise of the game is that you are a new recruit for the Crimson Blades and you have just made a name for yourself by saving the life of the local oracle from a rampaging giant spider. That is where your story starts. While the game is story driven it is mostly a hack and slash type of RGPMMO and is definitely geared toward the younger audiences. Why do I say it that way? When you are customizing your character you get to control just how big your female characters breasts are going to be. That right there says it all on what crowd they are going for.
