Power Rangers (2017) It’s morphin time!

It’s been a long time since we first saw Saban’s Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers came on the small screen on many Fox stations across North America. Kids could not get enough of the colour-coded teens infused with alien superpowers and their transforming vehicles. It was vary similar to old school anime shows like Voltron and Dynaman, but for kids that were not used to the concept, it was new, intriguing and fun. Come twenty-four years later, things are a bit different, and we have new cast of Rangers, but the differences are vast, and very welcome. New movie technology has made superpowers and vehicular transformation on the big screen much more realistic in scope, but now we have the time to learn more about the Rangers themselves. We also can learn more about those that brought them together, Zardon, Alpha 6, and their first nemesis, Rita Repulsa, and her “puddies”.

The Hunger Games (2012) The World Will Be Watching

Having read the book that the movie is based on I can tell you that the film does follow the plot of the book but some things are different, some more glaring then others. Those that have read the book will see right off two things that just do not follow the book at all and the only thing I can think is that they had to change them for time constraints. The first is that the cat, Buttercup, is the wrong color and the other is that the mocking jay broach is found in the black market. The pin was supposed to be give to Katniss by the mayors daughter. There are other inconsistencies but can be forgive a bit due to the scope of things. In reality the book should have been divided up between more then one film but then no one would have understood the first film at all. That is how much content is in the book.
