Sniglet Of The DayAQUALIBRIUM (ak wa lib’ re um) n. The point where the stream of drinking fountain water is at its perfect height, thus relieving the drinker from (a) having to suck the nozzle, or (b) squirting himself in the eye.

Now that school is back in session, many students are going to be making trips to the many drinking fountains in the halls and on the playgrounds. They will be using the ones at the parks, and hoping the water taste clean, fresh, and cold, and not warm or salt. The will also be hoping that the fountains will be set with a good aqualibrium, because no one wants to go back to class with a wet face and a soaked shirt or top, nor do they want to such the nozzle of the fountain, because, ew! Who knows who else might have been there before? If the aqualibrium is too low, the water tends to be warm anyway. Too high, then it tends to be frigid, and might cause brainfreeze. It is a rare case when all the fountains in one school can be in perfectly synchronized with a universal aqualibrium, and the students at that school might not realise exactly how lucky they are. If this is the case at your school, the 2011-12 school year will a great one for you indeed.
