Sid Meier’s Pirates! Live The Life

Fun Factor:★★★★★

This game is a true classic and has been around in one form or another since 1987 when it was made for the Commodore 64 by MicroProse. The game has come along way since then and has been updated with 3D graphics and smoother game play. Much of the game is the same as it was in its initial release but now has a mini dance game and better turn based land battles. In all this is one of the best versions of the game so far with ports of it and the old one going to smart phones and pads. How far Sid Meier, Firaxis and 2k Games takes this title is still to be seen but I doubt that they will let such a popular title like this die and fade away. I am sure it will go to see “One more time”, if not more, if you forgive the pun.

Columbus: Ghost of the Mystery Stone

Fun Factor:★★★☆☆

While I did find thatColumbus: Ghost of the Mystery Stone had an engaging storyline, the frustration factor sort of put me off. The graphics were well lit, and sometimes thing were pretty easy to find in this hidden object mystery. The setting is just a few days before October 12, 1492, and it is a part of Columbus’ record that was never logged, and for very good reasons. It seems that there was an encounter with the ghost of a young woman that had died when the ship she was on was attempting to make the same journey just a few years before. So, Columbus goes from explorer to sleuth as he tries to track down what happened to the ship that came to these tropical islands before his Pinta.
