abbone (ab-bo-nee) a. (adj.) The agony or severe pain caused by attempting to stand or walk when a person’s knees have seized up, primarily after a prolonged period of inactivity. Most commonly suffered by travelers using trains, cars, and planes as methods of transportation.
With summer just around the corner, and many roadtrips about to occur due to vacations, grandparent visiting, the freak media celebrations causing slightly lower gas prices, and theme park upgrades, abbone is going to be a common thing. Planes, trains, automobiles and buses will be moving us across the country, but we won’t be moving around in them, an that is when abbone will happen. It hurts! It hurts so much when that vehicle comes to a stop, and you have to get up and out of it after sitting in it for so long. Your only diversion might have been the music, or whatever games you might have brought along on your handheld console or apps loaded into whatever digital thing you carry along. Now comes the time to face the reality of the real, natural world, and leave that digital stuff behind as you stretch your digits. The only noises you might hear is the sound of rushing traffic, singing birds, and the creaking and cracking of your many bones as they try to realign themselves after being in one inactive position for so long. That other noise, the one that sounds like someone screaming? That is coming from your own mouth as your brain attempts to catch up with your bones.
