Captain America: The Winter Soldier – In heroes we trust

Captain-America-Winter-Soldier-Blu-Ray-Fron-CoverThis film is not only action packed but filled with drama and character building that we have come to expect from the Marvel franchise. The story draws you in and doesn’t let go, not even at the end. You see more than just the shield toting Captain America, we get to see Steve Rogers as a human being having to deal with the same things that veterans have to each and every day. True he does have some gifts that let him cope but he is dealing with them on a day to day basis as each vet must.

Addams Family Values : Creepier. Kookier. Spookier. Ookier.

When we last left the Addams house, Gomez (Raul Julia) and long lost brother Fester (Christopher Lloyd) had been reunited, and the dark, lovely Morticia (Anjelica Huston) announced that she was going to have a baby. Several months have passed, and now there is to be a new addition to the kooky clan, Pubert Addams (played by twins Kaitlyn and Kristen Hooper). Now, Thing (Christopher Hart), Lurch (Carel Struycken), and Granny (Carol Kane) are doing their best with a little tyke underfoot, and the kids, Wednesday (Christina Ricci), and Pugsley (Jimmy Workman) are coming up with all kinds of creative ways to get rid of the little brat. This is far too much for Morticia to handle on her own, so Gomez does well by his “Cara Mia”, and attempts to hire a nanny to watch over all three kids.

Marvel’s The Avengers (2012) Some assembly required

As you can tell from the tagline I added to the title, this film does require some assembly but this can be a good thing. I know some people will hate this film because it just doesn’t come and smack you in the face with action and The Avengers right out the door. The thing is, even though we may have seen all the films leading up to this one, other may have not seen the prequels to understand what is going on. The film has to show us some of what has happened in the past so that it can continue to tell us the story as it goes on. I would still like to know how Thor got to Earth without the Bifrost, the film didn’t really elaborate other then using dark energies mentioned by Loki. In any event, we had to see all the slow stuff to be able to get to and appreciate all the fast and thrilling stuff.
