Supermarket Mania 2 is a fast-paced time management game where all kinds of crazy things can happen as you help Nikki run her uncle’s chain of food stores in L.A. You’ll meet all kinds of customers, from sweet little old ladies to hyper teenage girls jazzed up on sugary drinks. All the while, you have to keep your shelves stocked, make fresh milkshakes and baked goods on demand, and keep the place clean. Whew! Nikki does all this by herself, too! Good thing she’s only a character in a game, because I don’t know of any real person who can do the things these people do in these time management games. I actually had to start this game twice to get a feel for it. You can’t have any distractions in Supermarket Mania 2, else you will lose track of where you are, and where you should be going. Your eyes might get a little hazy while trying to keep up with all the demands Nikki has to deal with. There are little intermissions for storyline and upgrades in the stores along the way to keep things running efficiently. If you like fast-paced puzzle games, and can keep up with Nikki, then you will really like Supermarket Mania 2.

Review:Love & Death;Bitten

In a nice change of pace from the regular puzzle games, I’m taking you into a hidden object mystery from the 18th Century filled with dark magick, logic puzzles, hidden objects, and vampiric spells. Damon has become a vampire through the machinations of a dark queen of the night, and on a hunt, he spots a tasty morsel of a meal that turns out to be the one person who can lift his curse. I really enjoyed helping Victoria in breaking the spells that held her dark prince and the turn in a surprise ending that looks like it could spawn a sequel, which I hope it does. Like the current trend in vampire fiction, Love and Death: Bitten has a romantic twist, but with its historical Olde World setting, it is very different than what we see on the big screen, and even the little screen these days. So come where horror and romance mix in a fun way, and you’ll want to keep playing along with Love and Death: Bitten as much as I did.

Review: Luxor: 5th Passage

Luxor: 5th Passage is another in the series of the fast-paced marble popper game with a great Egyptian theme that just keeps getting better and better. There are even more kinds of bonus marbles to help you along the way on your journey along the Nile this time. The bonus levels have a “Galaga” theme to them, and there are more intense graphics than before. I have enjoyed the Luxor games for years, and Luxor: 5th Passage is a great addition to the series. I encourage everyone who loves marble poppers to try them all. Use the power ups like Stop, Scorpion, and Colour Bomb to help you blast through all the marbles for hours on end in this addictive game, and then try its prequels. Mumbo Jumbo came out with the first Luxor years ago, and they are all casual game classics. Just when you think Luxor can’t get any better, they give us something even more fun and surprising. I was a little disappointed when my trial time came to an end, because I wanted to continue, but I’ll definitely give this game a purchase.

Review: Asami’s Sushi Shop

Asami's Sushi Shop at Big Fish Games

Asami’s Sushi Shop is a very fun casual game that features not only Match 3 puzzle play, but creative interaction as you learn how to make virtual sushi. Asami is taking over the family business of her grandfather’s chain of sushi shops, and you can enjoy the customers reactions to her quick prowess and added services to them. You add power upgrades to your stores and inventory with every new store you open that improve the atmosphere of the shop and keep the customers happy. Go from a little country store out in the rice paddies to the high tech fun of the big city, but keep that tasty fish and rice combo the world has come to love coming in so many ways, because every customer has different tastes, and you never know what to expect from them.

Deepica from Big Fish Games

Deepica is one of many casual games that can be found at places like Big Fish Games, Gamehouse, PlayFirst and other casual game sites.  Deepica is a very addictive puzzle game in which you need to match corals of the same color to itself to finish the many different puzzles you encounter throughout the game. These puzzles change with every new level, and some little surprises are added along the way, like diamonds that clear nearly the whole screen for you. There are also color-changing bubbles, fireballs, and all kinds of twists that keep the puzzles changing as you play them. It is one of the most fun Match 3-type games I have enjoyed in a very long time. Highly recommended, very fast-paced.
