The-Dog-In-The-DarkThe latest in the series of The Noble Dead by Barb & J. C. Hendee is a fantastic tale of how opposing forces can come together to win the day. We are taken on a trip like no other as we once again join Magiere and Leesil in their quest to get rid of the weapon of the enemy. It consists of 5 orbs that are each guarded by a powerful undead but we still don’t know exactly what it is that they would do if they are all brought together and used at the same time. We do find out some of the effect that they have on the huntress Magiere, a child of all the races and a human and noble dead at the same time. With each orb that she encounters it changes her to where she is afraid of loosing herself entirely. Leesil and Chap, the fay inhabited dog and Leesil’s constant companion, will do all that they can to see that she stays the person and woman that they love and care about.

This is the third book in the second series of The Noble Dead Saga by Barb Hendee and J. C. Hendee. This book continues the adventures of Chane and Wynn Hygeorth, a journeyor of the Guild of Sagecraft and he protector Mahayji named Shade. They have returned from the Dwarven city of Dhredze Seatt with some of what they sought. Wynn now has her journals but they paid a very high price to get them. They have also picked up another traveler as well, Ore-Locks, a Stonewalker and keeper of the dead who is also a descendant of one of the worst dwarves in their oral history. He wants to clear his ancestors name and knows that little Wynn and her peculiar friend will be able to help him.

This is the second book from series 2 of the The Noble Dead Saga by Barb Hendee and J. C. Hendee. This is the continuing adventures of Wynn Hygeorth, a journeyor of the Guild of Sagecraft, as she seeks to uncover the location of the texts that were taken from her so long ago. With so many deaths associated with them she has to find out what is so important in them that the Noble Dead are trying to get to them. What is in them that drive them to kill any who know about them. With these thoughts in her mind and her companions Chane, a noble dead himself, a vampire, and her protector, the Fay-Dog / Mahayji Shade, daughter of Chap and Lily are off to the dwaven city Dhredze Seatt. She hopes that they will be able to find the texts that she believes is guarded by the Stonewalkers. They are supposed to be a sect of the dwarves that care for the dead, especially the thanes. A dwarf must do many great deeds to be titled a thane and given a torque made by the burning ones, one of the 5 fay descendent races.

This is the first book in the second series of the Noble Dead saga by Barb Hendee and J. C. Hendee. In the book we start a few seasons after the end of Child Of A Dead God where the trio Wynn Hygeorth, Magiere, Leesil as well as Chap an elemental Fay born into the body of a majay-hì, elven hounds of a wolf lineage. That is not the story of this book but what they carried across the sea to Wynn’s home content is, the manuscripts that they took from the ancient undead library. This book weaves a tale of deception, belittlement and courage. We see a young sage grow up, renew old friendships out of necesity as well as forge new ones to get at the truth of what is really going on around young miss Wynn Hygeorth.
