Merferator (MUR fur ay ter) – n. The cardboard core in a toilet tissue roll.
They are used for so many things, but first and foremost the merferator is used for holding toilet tissue, and they don’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon, at least not until they develop that technology from Demolition Man that uses the three seashells. Merferators are pretty diverse in there uses. They can be used as toys for dogs or cats, as molds for candles, or small towers on sand castles, or with some paint and shellac, sliced up, they can even be napkin rings. Though is might be kind of difficult for some upscale hostess to explain to her guests that she made napkin rings from merferators. Let’s see how many other things we can create using a merferator…. Well, whatever comes up, expect to see it come home in a child’s backpack from school art class, if that child is lucky enough to go to a school that still teaches art. Kids can take something as simple as a merferator, and come back with all kinds of uses for them. They tend to find just way too many variations on a theme, even these biodegradable merferators. Use them or lose them, either way, you’ll still be going green.
