The TimeBuilders are back again, and we are in round two back in Kemet and now Pharoah Touti has to appease the gods by building lovely monuments to them in their host cities. After quick tutorial, we head to Bubastis to spruce up the town a bit, and build a lovely larger than life statue of kitty-goddess, Bastet, and take our barge on down the Nile. Queen Hapu and her best friend, Architect Senmout are here along the way, but Senmout is ill, and it is up to us to help Touti in his quest.
There are similarities in the The TimeBuilders: Pyramid Rising 2 that we see in many building quest games, build homes collect rents, upgrade homes, build businesses to support the residents, but this game has a more pagan supernatural take in that we are building statues and monuments as well. The little backstory featuring the royals, their friends, and even their pets is cute and fun, and really moves the game along. Our workers and officials in the towns entertain us after winning each level with their “Walk Like an Egyptian” dance, which is one of my favourite features of the TimeBuilder games, just like in the music video:
