This movie took a great look at the end of an era through the eyes of two high school graduates the weekend before they leave for college. They take on the town with a last time cruise through the streets in their Southern California suburb, and they know that the times, they are a changin’.
This 1973 movie was the launchpad for many mainstream actors and directors whom we are very familiar with today. The movie was directed by George Lucas, whom made it on a budget of $500,000. The revenue and profits brought in by nostalgic baby boomer movie-goers was most definitely enough to let the studios take on Lucas’ pet project, Star Wars, and we all know where that would lead.
