You don’t realize that it is heart touching till you are deeply into the film and can’t wait to see what happens next. With these two men working on this film you have the very best in visual effects as well as suspense with thrills.
While some parts of the film seem slow they are needed to make the story happen and the film to really pop off of the screen. If a film doesn’t let you catch your breath you don’t really get to enjoy all that is happening. With those slow spot you can truly appreciate how it builds to the suspenseful shocking climax and this film gives you many of those. Just when you think something is done and over with you are hit in the face with a spectacular display of heart wrenching or fast paced action and explosions. You just can not predict what is going to happen next, you might be able to guess but that is all you will do. There are some classics that are almost always going to be remade and I think that in another 10 years you will probably see this one remade again. It seems that when ever there is a great leap in technology that this one becomes the guinea pig for that to see just what can be done. For some stories this is a bad thing but for The Thing I think it will always be revisited. It is the unknown terror and horror of the story that draws the viewer in and then slams them against the wall as they catch their breath. That is what a terror and thriller film are supposed to do. It is supposed to make you hold your breath and then jump or scream with something happens. This film uses those tried and true methods of scaring you without being a blood bath like the current films of the past few years. Read more... The film that scared audiences and home viewers for years is also the first serious science fiction world from world renowned director Ridley Scott. It was ground breaking for its time and is still thrilling people even now. It is one of those iconic films that will stick in your hear forever. No one who has seen the film can forget the scene where the Alien first shows itself or when the facehugger first attached itself to crewman Kane (John Hurt) after they found the huge massive ship on the deserted planet.
