B+STAMPEDE (bee’ plus stam peed?) n. The attempt by half the classroom to claim the paper with no name on it.
Now that they school year is back into full swing, there will be many quizzes and tests to be taken on Friday afternoons, and sometimes, students are going to be under so much pressure to get through these, they might forget what their name is…. more like they just forget to write their name at the top of the answer sheet. Let’s say that student who does forget does so well on that test or quiz that they get a B+ or better… This is when the B+ Stampede occurs. Really, who doesn’t want to claim such a good grade? That might boost your grade average in that certain subject. Some student might be bad at math, spelling, or vocabulary, so who wouldn’t want to snatch that little bit of academic gold that the teacher is holding up there for the taking? Don’t get your hopes up, though, because that innocent student whom forgot to sign their name might be just kicking back, and waiting for the time when the teacher checks through the list of students and finds their name is missing. It is all a matter of time, and this missing name might not be a simple mistake, but instead a mischievous plot designed to make his or her fellow students flip out over a possible good grade. Why not? It’s good entertainment, and better than watching WWE.
