Backspubble (bak’ spuh bul) n. – Dishwater that disappears down one drain of a double sink and comes up the other.
So you do your dishes the old fashioned way, and fill one sink with soapy water, the other with scalding hot rinse water, and get those nasty bad boys done. You release the stoppers, and the rinse water goes down the drain in a flash, but that soapy stuff just oozes down, taking its own sweet time. You hear a gurgle, and look back at the sink. There is soapy water in both sides of the sink now. That gurgle you heard was the announcement of a backspubble. So apparently, your sink has just thrown up on itself. This backspubble is not toxic or threatening, just annoying, because you’ve just finished cleaning, and now you have to clean some more. It only takes a couple of minutes, but there are shows and movies that have to be watched, and video games that have to be played. You don’t want to be wasting time on cleaning a sick sink when you could be wasting it while watching Mythbusters or Primeval. There are Charr and White Mantle that need to be slain in Guild Wars. So, you take care of the backspubble, and go on to whatever evening diversion will take you away from this sink, but beware, the backspubble will be back again tomorrow night.
