With the holidays around the corner, both Halloween and Thanksgiving you are going to want to try out this recipe. For anyone that loves pumpkin flavored anything and those that love sugar cookies, they are going to love how these tiny morsels of sinfully delicious goodness just melt in the mouth as they send shivers to their toes. For some they are going to be that good, for others you are going to wonder why you never tried to make these yourself.

This recipe is a modification or some might call it a bastardization of a sugar cookie recipe. It is as easy to make as other cookies and you will be eating them in no time. Keep your fingers out of the batter though as you will want to just eat the dough raw, it is just that good.

Pumpkin Sugar Cookies Recipe:

1 and 1/2 cups sugar
3/5 cup pumpkin, puree or canned
1 and 1/4 cup margarine or butter, softened
2 eggs
1 and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
2 and 1/2 tablespoon milk
4 cups of self rising flower

Note: If using all purpose flower make sure to add 2 teaspoons cream of tarter, 1 teaspoon baking soda and a dash of salt.

Cream together the pumpkin, butter, sugar and eggs till they are creamy.

Stir in the vanilla and milk.

Mix in the flower till it is all a smooth thick paste.

Once you have all of the ingredients mixed together you will take a teaspoon and drop about one inch balls of the dough onto an ungreased baking sheet. The butter that is in the recipe will grease the sheet enough for you while they cook. Make sure to spread them out as they will spread on their own as they cook as all drop cookies do. Once you have all the dough dropped out, about 4 to 5 dozen (more if you make sure to only make one inch cookies -=Smile=-) bake them for about 18 minutes in a toaster oven at 385 degrees Fahrenheit. If using a regular oven they should cook in about 8 to 10 minutes.

These cookies are delicious and you just might find that there are none left as you pull the last cookie sheet from the oven. Soon as a person tastes these morsels of sinful goodness they are going to be stealing them every time they pass by them. The dough will keep well and can even be rolled out and cut into shapes if the dough has been chilled for a few hours. These cookies are going to be a hit with the family and at the next party that you take them to. Best of all, this is a unique recipe put together by us right here at Musings From Us.

Happy Halloween and Happy Thanksgiving from all of us to you and these cookies are going to make all those you know happy as well.
