After a harrowing time in Brink of Consciousness: Dorian Gray Syndrome Collector’s Edition, it was time for something a bit more upbeat and girlie, and what is more upbeat than a fashion show? I decided to give Jojo’s Fashion Show a try, and it was fast-paced and fun. I was working against the clock, putting together retro-style outfits, adding accessories, and trying to reach a max score for a certain look. We put together 60s mod and hippie styles, 70s glam and futuristic, seasonals and westerns. I only played the demo, so I did not get past the London shows.
This game was really fun,but I was not sold on it. It was cute, but there could have been so much more. The background sounds reminded me too much of PopCaps, and sometimes when I would put together a look I think might work, it would not get such a good score. What’s a geek girl supposed to know about fashion anyway? We are fine in our jeans and T-shirts, and our nerdy mates love us for it. I will be reviewing sequel, and while Jojo’s Fashion Show is a nice bit of fluff, there should have been more options when it came to putting certain looks together. Maybe the next game will be better.
