For all you casual gamers that are addicted to such games as Heroes of Kalevela, then you are in for a real treat when you play Imperial Island: Birth of an Empire. The gameplay and fun factors are pretty much the same. You are building new settlements as you hunt for supplies using a match 3 game grid. You get tools that will take our columns, rows, and areas off effect bombs.

It is really fun to watch as your little island nation builds up before your eyes. This story has a Sindbad, the Sailor kind of quality to it, but there is much more. Unlike in Kalevela, you don’t have to only deal with one main enemy and her henchbird. This game takes monsters from Persian and Arabic legends, and you have to pit yourself against them much like you would in Puzzle Quest. Imperial Island: Birth of an Empire is just as addictive as these other two, with a great storyline that will keep you playing the game all weekend to find out what happens next.

It would be great to see more of these city building match 3 casual games on the market, because the HOMs are pretty much dominating the boards, and just how much Scooby-Doo style can you take. Nothing against Hanna-Barbera’s 1970s Saturday Morning empire. but it is nice to take a break from all those paranormal investigations and kick back with something that is pure fun. If that is what you are looking for, Imperial Island: Birth of an Empire is it.
