With all movies that have come out over the last few years set using Classical Greek mythos and legends, I was surprised that I had neglected to review Heroes of Hellas when I has already done so with its sequels. In this chain-based match 3 game, we are on assignment by Zeus to gather all the main heroes of legend, from the ill-fated Icarus to the mighty Hercules to hunt down a stolen artifact that has been taken into Hades realm. So, before we can cross the river Styx, we will use these chains of icons to find Icarus, Achilles, Perseus, Odysseus, Jason, Hercules and more to hunt down one really bad dude, King Tantalus.

Like another addictive match 3 game, Heroes of Kalevala, this game keeps us up all hours, not with its simple gameplay, but its storyline, because we really want to know what happens next, but then Alawar Games has a way of doing that. The artwork is not all that spectacular, and the sound is simple light music that might be a little too relaxing, but when it comes to the fun factor and the value of this game, it makes it worth check out the sequels. It just doesn’t get any more classic than this. Now that the weekend is here, gather up the Blu-rays of your favourite legends and end your evening with the heroes of all of them in one great game.
