Many people just do not appreciate just how good a piece of toast, especially garlic toast and be. It really is very simple to make and quick as well. I am going to give you a recipe for what I feel is the best home made garlic toast to be had and it is made from everything that you probably already have in your kitchen. The whole process of making this dish is about 10 minutes time from start to finish.

There are just 5 ingredients for this side dish and can be made in either a toaster oven or a range oven, which ever you decide or use. A microwave just will not do for something like this as it can not brown the top of the bread and leave the underside soft and delish. It doesn’t matter how many slices of toast you are going to make, the recipe will always be the same for each slice.

Easy Garlic Toast Recipe

Sliced white bread
Powdered garlic (NEVER garlic salt)
Parsley
Italian seasoning
Butter for spreading

Before we get into the details I would like to tell you about spreading or buttering your bread. You want to make sure that you have the enter surface of your bread buttered, the side that you will be adding the herbs & spices to. The butter needs to be put on almost as if you were buttering a brick. If some of you were to butter a brick like you butter bread your house would fall apart. There is nothing wrong with butter and it is meant to be used so make sure that your bread is well covered all the way to the edge of the crust. Buttering your bread this way will give you the best toast possible in both look and flavor.

Day old home made bread is best but store bought sliced bread will do. Once you have how many ever slices laid out that you want to make get your butter and start adding a generous coating of butter to the bread. You could use margarine but there is not really anything like the taste of natural churned butter. Once you have the surface of the bread covered you will then sprinkle a liberal amount of garlic powder on top of it till it is more garlic color then butter color. You will know the difference as you start putting the powder on. After that you will ad a small sprinkling of parsley and then Italian seasoning on top of that.

Once all slices have been setup you will place then on a baking rack, it really does need to be a rack and not just a tray. Using a backing rack will give you the best flavor possible. Now place the rack into the oven or toaster and broil the slices for about 7 minutes at 450 degrees Fahrenheit or 232 Celsius. It could be more or less depending on your oven or toaster. Once the slices start to turn golden with a bit of brown your toast is now done and ready to eat.

This is the perfect addition to almost any meal or even as a snack on their own and as you see, easy to make. Enjoy!
