Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King is pretty good for the PlayStation 2 but, the music in this game will put you to sleep. This game is the part of the Dragon Warrior series. So this game should named as Dragon Warrior VIII, but it is called Dragon Quest in Japan. Well, anyway, this game is about a king and a princess who were cursed by a evil jester name Dhoulmagus. You must find Dhoulmagus and destroy him before he cause any more trouble. You will pick friends on your journey. You and your friends must defeat Dhoulmage and save the world.

The story sounds like The Record of Lodoss War. The graphics are like Dragon Ball Z: Budokai series. Yes, all the characters in this game look DBZ characters. So it is Dragon Ball Z meets Lodoss War. This game isn’t developed by Dimps or published by Atari. This game was developed by 5 Levels and published by Square Enix. I had played one of 5 Levels before on the PS2, and it is called Dark Cloud. The gameplay runs like Final Fantasy X. This game was came out few years after FF X. This game came out same time when Resident Evil 4 did. The soundtrack in this game sound like Disney music. In this game, you can customize weapons, armor, and other cool things you will like. Dragon Quest VIII is longer than Final Fantasy X. I’m still working on this game and I’m still playing this game, so I haven’t beat this game yet. I know this game will take you a month, maybe longer. If you are getting bored of Final Fantasy games, you should try out this game. This game will take awhile. So try out Dragon Quest VIII. This game is open world.
