The next in the line of Dragon Age games from BioWare and EA is that of Inquisition. This picks up after the video Dawn of the Seeker and the events of Kirkwall in Dragon Age 2. It was highly anticipated and for good reason. The storyline is compelling and interesting enough to make you want to follow. The world is hugely massive and easy to get lost in. This is not a game that you are going to just sit down and beat in a day’s time. You will spend hours on this one and that is not a bad thing at all.

Along with the new class there are 3 new regions to explore as well as a new Epic Battle, Retaking Pelagir. Pelagir is a city on the banks of the Anduin river and is besieged by Corsairs and the men of Haradrim which is south of Gondor. Update 15: Gondor Aflame – Now Available

Final Fantasy XII is better than Final Fantasy XIII is, but not better Final Fantasy VII & X. This game pretty good to play, though. Final Fantasy XII has amazing graphics on the PlayStation 2 that you will never see again. The gameplay is different now. The battle system runs like Dragon Age instead of the old Final Fantasy battle system. This game is like Star Wars meets Final Fantasy because some of the technology is like Star Wars technology and some of the monsters that are nice to people look like Star Wars aliens. This game came out before Dragon Age.

This game begins in Dalmasca’s capital city of Rebanastre. You are Vaan and he is a thief. Veen is a street urchin and an orphan who lives on the streets of Rabanastre with his Penelo and he dreams of becoming a sky pirate in command of an airship and travel the world. He will meet other party members of this game later. The other characters of this game are Penelo, Balthier, Fran, Basch von Ronsenburg, and Ashelia B’nargin Dalmasca. Penelo is Veen’s closest friend, an orphan whom lost her family during a war between Dalmasca and Archadia and she dreams of being dancer. She learned martial arts from her older brothers who were soldiers who served during the war.

EverQuest II is a pretty good game to play. This still isn’t better than Guild Wars or Call of Duty. This game does beat EverQuest, though. The graphics do not look Nintendo 64 graphics and the gameplay runs smooth. This game look like Oblivion meets Guild Wars. Why? Because the graphics looks like Oblivion and the gameplay runs like Guild Wars.

Well, Oblivion came out around 2006 and Guild Wars came out around 2005, but this game came out around 2004. So, this game was out before Oblivion and Guild Wars. The character creation is better than Oblivion, but not Guild Wars. I liked the character creation because I can make the girls look cute and sexy. You can chose different hair styles you want, but you can’t color their hair blue, green, and pink. You can color there hair red, brown, blond, and even white. If you want anime hair, you can choose white. You don’t see face detail in this game. You can only see it in Oblivion, but not this game. Well, the girls are cuter than before.

Ithaca – A Remediation of the poem for a gaming module

Here is the video that was originally created for the Online Games: Literature, New Media, and Narrative by by Jay Clayton of Vanderbilt University, offered at Coursera

The actual NeverWinter Nights 1 game modual can be downloaded from the following link Ithaca_NWN1. My wife and I spent 35 hours on the creation of the mod and then about an hour setting up for the video. If you down load the mod, it was made with NWN not NWN2 with all expansions as well as CEP 2.4 available at the The NeverWinter Vault

Here is the poem that was used in creating the various different game areas.

Ithaca

As you set out on the way to Ithaca
hope that the road is a long one,
filled with adventures, filled with understanding.
The Laestrygonians and the Cyclopes,
Poseidon in his anger: do not fear them,
you’ll never come across them on your way
as long as your mind stays aloft, and a choice
emotion touches your spirit and your body.
The Laestrygonians and the Cyclopes,
savage Poseidon; you’ll not encounter them
unless you carry them within your soul,
unless your soul sets them up before you.
