We are seeing more and more on the news lately that everything is getting better. We see the DOW almost hit 13,000 and they say that things are getting better. While it might be getting better for the rich it shore as hell is not getting better for the over 50% of Americans that are in poverty We hear how jobless claims are falling but how much of that is in the fact that people are just plain giving up when there are no jobs to be had. Sure things are getting better if you live in the bubble that the greedy inconsiderate rich live in. For them everything is hunky dory and they could give a damn what you or I might think or actually have to deal with. So is the economy getting better? That depends on your perspective and your wallet or pocketbook. Read more...(879 words, 1 image, estimated 3:31 mins reading time)
You might have noticed that more sites are down today. The reason is that they are opposed to SOPA and PIPA. Even though some politicians have said that they are no longer going to do anything about these two bills that does not change the fact that they thought of them in the first place. We need to make sure that our leaders know that we are all people and not just some criminal that needs to be punished. I say it that way because of some of the laws and some of the things that they say. They want to legislate every single part of our life it seems at times. There are more then enough copyright laws on the books right now that they don’t have to think up new ones. They say they are doing this to protect us but who are they really protecting? I think themselves and the entertainment industry. Hell, they don’t even know how this would impact the net and the people that use it. In committee hearings they were constantly saying that they were just not nerd enough to understand it. Read more...(608 words, 1 image, estimated 2:26 mins reading time)
It is amazing in this day and age that we see such dinosaurs running for office. By the way, all these comments are that, comments. They are how I see it on the candidates actions and in no way is to be construed as inflammatory. If they get upset that is their own damned fault for acting the way that they do. The reason I call them dinos is because they seem to think that all of America is as narrow minded and as rich as they are. When you have 10,000 dollar bets going on how in the hell can they have a clue what real people have to deal with day in and day out. So many people with silver spoons seem to think this way and it is just not right or true. Read more...(823 words, 1 image, estimated 3:18 mins reading time)
I was lucky enough to get off work early today, due to some scheduling mix-ups and overstaffing. When I came home, Cleave was watching our spindoctor state governor talking about how great the times are, and how so many jobs have been created during his admin, etc… etc… etc… Well, it seems the next Congressman for Florida’s District 1 thinks differently, and maybe the world should learn a few things from him. So, Musing Readers, take a few moments to see things from the South, and consider all points of interest. Let those you know that might live in this area from Pensacola eastwards to Chipley that NW Florida needs to see things from a better light than CNN or Faux News can show them. Numismatist: N. A person with the uncanny ability to get others to voluntarily give them money.
With Washington campaign season kicking into gear, it is amazing to see how many numismatists are out there. These people have a pretty amazing talent, using that charisma to get the donations they need to get the power to make changes, and…. what’s that? Oh, there have been no changes. Well, sure there have been, but none for the better, and don’t go blaming the whole of the problem on the scapegoat in the Oval Office. There are 538 plus member of Congress that still have more collective power than any executive has ever had, and many of these people are numismatists, too. It is pretty amazing that how we have no jobs, can barely keep a roof over our heads and our family bellies filled, yet we still find a way to give money to these people. Some of them have been doing this same job for decades. Maybe it is time for them to retire, or find a new line of work. Even though we gave them the funds to get them there, and got them there by voting them in, they aren’t doing the job we hired them for. So guys, vote independent when it comes to the choices in legislative government in 2012. These unknown guys and gals might be our last best hope.
