Home Made Baking Powder

Recipes_From_The_Fridge-150x150Here is an easy recipe to be able to make baking powder. It is just three simple ingredients and taste so much better than the store bought. Personally I think that it works better as well.

The reason that I have started making my own baking powder is due to allergies. This recipe makes sure that the food products that I am sensitive to are not used in my diet. I will probably keep using this recipe even if they were to remove what I am sensitive to out of the store brand baking powders. This will also be a great recipe for those that are highly sensitive to corn products. Even if the recipe and ingredients below are unusable by them, they will be able to to use the recipe, just make sure that the ingredients are safe for them to use.

Home Made Baking PowderIngredients
1 tsp. Baking Soda (any brand that you are comfortable using)
2 tsp. Cream of Tartar (usually a byproduct of winemaking)
1 tsp. Starch (potato – rice – tapioca or other starch)

How To Make An Elegant Paper Box

This entry was posted in Arts, How To by Cleave on

Ever have something that you really liked but didn’t have anything to store it in and everything you try to find is not the right size? This guide will show you how you can make your own elegant paper box that is just right for what you either want to display, keep safe or just store it in for later use. These boxes can be made for anything that you want and the beauty of this guide is that you can custom make each one. They never have to be a one size fits all with what you are wanting to do. The boxes themselves can even be a gift if you make it fancy enough or special enough to give. While a box can be made for almost anything the one shown here will most definitely be for small things like keepsakes or pens. Trying to use the steps that I give here would not be useful for something really large, this is all about style and elegance and not shipping.

Sniglet of the Day: November 23

Sniglet Of The DayGizzledipplers (gih’ zul dip lurz) – n. Those annoying waving hands seen on the back of Winnebagos (placed there by people too lazy to be friendly on their own).

So many of you are out on the road this week, heading to Grandmother’s house, driving your dapple grey, horseless carriage or even a motor scooter to get there. If you have been on the interstates, you might have seen many campers and other recreational vehicles. Some of them have these plastic hand-shaped things in the back window that just bobs up and down, to and fro, but that’s pretty much all it does. You never see them in cars, or on trucks, even semis. So how did this little bit of suburban culture take to the highways, and how do we get rid of it? Clearly, this annoying little plastic thing might have been what started part of the road rage culture, but since I do not live anywhere near any major cities to test this theory on, I cannot say. Surely there is more to road rage than being annoying. I suppose some people have been shot at for less. Stay safe on the roads out there, and if you do have one of those bouncy hand things on the back window of your camper, make sure you wake at the drivers behind you when you remove it. Either they will wave back, give you a wide-eyed stare, or wave a gun at you. Let’s hope it is not the last one. It would ruin an already overly commercialised holiday.

Ink From Berries

When ever you go looking online for a recipe to make ink from berries you wind up seeing the same text, the exact same text on each site that you go to. You don’t see any pictures, you don’t see any thoughts or guide lines, you just see a small set of instructions with a ton of ads all around what has been copied onto the page. Not seeing what I wanted to find out I took that recipe and then experimented with it to see what I would be able to come up with. At least you are going to be able to see images with this step by step guide and it will be more how to instead of how many ads can be stuck on one single page.
