Despicable Me 2: When the world needed a hero, they called a villain.

This was one of the cutest films to come out from Illumination Studios, and they are not stopping any time soon. The sequel to Despicable Me, this takes us on a new chapter in Gru’s (Steve Carell) unusual life, and involves his extended family of adopted daughters, Margo (Miranda Cosgrove),Edith (Dana Gaier), and Agnes (Elsie Fisher), a multitude of minions, and even Dr. Nefario (Russell Brand). Gru is now an ex-villain, and is settling down to a life of being a superdad, throwing fairytale birthday parties, and creating a line of jams and jellies with the help of his minions and the doctor. Things are not quite as exciting as they once were, but he kind of likes the way things are going. When a secret lab in the Arctic goes missing, he is kidnapped by an agent known only as Lucy (Kristen Wiig), and things are once more chaotic again.

ZootopiaAs if it is possible for Disney movies to get any better, they keep do! Zootopia is one of those kinds of movies that you can keep watching over and over again and never get tired of, which is pretty much the standard with many Disney movies. This story takes place in a very modern city, but it is the “tail” of Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin), a cute little bunny from Bunnyburrow, one child of over two hundred children of Bonnie (Bonnie Hunt) and Stu (Don Lake) Hopps, that want to be a police officer in the city of Zootopia. The country folk of Bunnyburrow think she will fail, and should be a carrot farmer like her parents, but she is determined to prove them all wrong. A while later, she is off to the police academy, training in all kinds of climates and terrain. All the other recruits are large predators or bigger herbivores like rhinos or hippos, but Judy uses her bunny gifts and dexterity to rise above her problems and soon graduates at the head of the class.

Hotel Transylvania (2012) Even monsters need a vacation

Hotel-Transylvania-2015-dvd-coverBack when Bram Stoker and Mary Shelley created these classic gothic monsters to scare us with throughout the ages, they most likely never dreamed we’d love them so much 150 plus years in the future and beyond. Apparently, neither did any of the monsters, because that is why Count Dracula (Adam Sandler) had the Hotel Transylvania built, but that was not the main reason. As humans, and to quote the Disney movie, Beauty and the Beast, “We don’t like what we don’t understand…” and such was the way we were with monsters during the 19th century, especially in Eastern Europe, which was about the time Dracula and his lovely wife had a sweet little vampire child, Mavis.

MV5BMjE2MzUwODUxMl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMTI0NDkzMjE@._V1_SY317_CR15,0,214,317_AL_I just watched Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and this one of the best DBZ movies that I have ever seen. Usually every DBZ movie that I had watched were like a hour, but this a real movie. This movie is about this god name Beerus, the God of Destruction, and he is looking to find the Super Saiyan god. Beerus is like a mummy cat. He acts like a cat and he looks sort of dehyrated. So goes to earth to find a Saiyan god and look for him.

He arrived at Bulma’s Birthday party. Vegeta was scared of him, so Vegeta tries to make happy, because Vetega’s father was his servant. Beerus likes the food on earth, but when he tries to get some pudding from Majun Buu, and Buu refuses to give any up, he goes on a rampage. Mr.Buu eats all the pudding. And we know Buu is stupid. When Bulma came up and slaps Beerus, Beerus slaps her back and Vegeta was very angry. Vetega fights with Beerus to honor Bulma. If someone does that to a woman, I will do the same. Goku came up and fights with Beerus. When he was fighting with Beerus, he be came a Super Saiyan God.

The Iron Giant: It came from outer space!

The-Iron-Giant-1999-Cover-ArtThere were many great animated films in the 1990s, but this has to be one of the best. Set during the Cold War, at the time of the launch of Sputnik and rampant McCarthyism, there was much for Americans to fear, especially things that came from unknown sources. In the winter of 1957, one great mystery came to a small town in Maine. Where it came from, we do not know, but this hulking robot had the capacity to learn from one young boy, Hogarth Hughes, about life and death, compassion and fear, and so much more.

Hogarth is a pretty self-sufficient kid. His widowed mother works at a local diner as a waitress, and is often asked to work extra shift. His late father was a test pilot in the Air Force, so science is always on Hogarth’s mind, but when a giant robot falls from the sky one night when Hogarth is watching scary movies by himself, he has to go investigate. He grabs his BB gun, but what he encounters is far beyond belief. After some misadventures, Hogarth and the Iron Giant become friends, and with the help of a local beatnik artist, they keep the secret from the town until a government agent shows up.
