It’s been a long time since we first saw Saban’s Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers came on the small screen on many Fox stations across North America. Kids could not get enough of the colour-coded teens infused with alien superpowers and their transforming vehicles. It was vary similar to old school anime shows like Voltron and Dynaman, but for kids that were not used to the concept, it was new, intriguing and fun. Come twenty-four years later, things are a bit different, and we have new cast of Rangers, but the differences are vast, and very welcome. New movie technology has made superpowers and vehicular transformation on the big screen much more realistic in scope, but now we have the time to learn more about the Rangers themselves. We also can learn more about those that brought them together, Zardon, Alpha 6, and their first nemesis, Rita Repulsa, and her “puddies”. This was one of the cutest films to come out from Illumination Studios, and they are not stopping any time soon. The sequel to Despicable Me, this takes us on a new chapter in Gru’s (Steve Carell) unusual life, and involves his extended family of adopted daughters, Margo (Miranda Cosgrove),Edith (Dana Gaier), and Agnes (Elsie Fisher), a multitude of minions, and even Dr. Nefario (Russell Brand). Gru is now an ex-villain, and is settling down to a life of being a superdad, throwing fairytale birthday parties, and creating a line of jams and jellies with the help of his minions and the doctor. Things are not quite as exciting as they once were, but he kind of likes the way things are going. When a secret lab in the Arctic goes missing, he is kidnapped by an agent known only as Lucy (Kristen Wiig), and things are once more chaotic again. The great thing about anime is that it is a limitless genre, and just about anything can happen in it. Anywhere, any time, past, future, parallel worlds, contemporary pop culture, you name it. Oddly, considering the title of this series, you would expect a tale about the Greek gods and their enemies and ancestors, but this has nothing to do with ancient history. Attack on Titan is set in a dystopian future about 2000 years from now. The technology has devolved back to steampunk tech, and things look pretty much like they did in the mid 19th century. Right there the similarities stop. This world is nothing like ours is, because there is a new, bold enemy against humanity, and they make any of history’s megalomaniacs look like bully kids on the playground. This is one of the finer movies that I have seen to depict both dystopia and utopia all in the same film. You have both young and old, representing both and you see what happens when you feed the wrong wolf. That is something from the movie. It is making the point that is you feed the negative, all you will get is the negative but if you have a positive outlook then anything is possible, allowing you to see your dreams come true.
I found that the acting was both fun and frivolous and just a joy to watch. It has a high caliber cast and just with most Disney films a rollercoaster of highs and lows that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Since the film has already been reviewed by my wife, link below, I will not get into the specifics of the film right here. What I will tell you is that after watching this film you will want to watch it again. It is a film that the whole family can enjoy over and over again. I just watched Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and this one of the best DBZ movies that I have ever seen. Usually every DBZ movie that I had watched were like a hour, but this a real movie. This movie is about this god name Beerus, the God of Destruction, and he is looking to find the Super Saiyan god. Beerus is like a mummy cat. He acts like a cat and he looks sort of dehyrated. So goes to earth to find a Saiyan god and look for him.
He arrived at Bulma’s Birthday party. Vegeta was scared of him, so Vegeta tries to make happy, because Vetega’s father was his servant. Beerus likes the food on earth, but when he tries to get some pudding from Majun Buu, and Buu refuses to give any up, he goes on a rampage. Mr.Buu eats all the pudding. And we know Buu is stupid. When Bulma came up and slaps Beerus, Beerus slaps her back and Vegeta was very angry. Vetega fights with Beerus to honor Bulma. If someone does that to a woman, I will do the same. Goku came up and fights with Beerus. When he was fighting with Beerus, he be came a Super Saiyan God. Read more...(350 words, 7 images, estimated 1:24 mins reading time)
