While awaiting a very long day of waiting for Cleave to get through a root canal up in Dothan, I craved some Japanese food. Due to his allergy to GMO corn, Japanese cuisine is just about the only kind he can eat when going out, and Dothan has its fair share of these kinds of places. It was a day of wait, wait, wait…. Fox News and puzzle video games that were much more interesting than Fox News, even if they were pretty much Candy Crush clones with a bit more challenge to them.
After getting the procedure done, we headed to Pet Smart to get some catnip and cat grass plants for our little calico stoners, Mouse and Shelley, and decided to try out Rock N Roll Sushi. I was just amazed by this place! It featured two of my favorite things, classic rock and alternative music and sushi! The walls were decorated with paintings and photos of great bands and artists from the 60s thru 80s of rock, and featured a black, red, silver and white decor that is the perfect atmosphere for such offerings. It’s been a long time since we first saw Saban’s Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers came on the small screen on many Fox stations across North America. Kids could not get enough of the colour-coded teens infused with alien superpowers and their transforming vehicles. It was vary similar to old school anime shows like Voltron and Dynaman, but for kids that were not used to the concept, it was new, intriguing and fun. Come twenty-four years later, things are a bit different, and we have new cast of Rangers, but the differences are vast, and very welcome. New movie technology has made superpowers and vehicular transformation on the big screen much more realistic in scope, but now we have the time to learn more about the Rangers themselves. We also can learn more about those that brought them together, Zardon, Alpha 6, and their first nemesis, Rita Repulsa, and her “puddies”. Buzzled(adj.)Right now I am buzzled. This is that feeling when you’ve had a really nice little drink, but can still focus enough to do simple tasks like cleaning and cooking easy meals, so long as knives are too much of a problem. Buzzled is a state in which one really should not drive in, but simply stay put and enjoy the little bit of a ride that has been given to you by way of the various breweries and distilleries of the world.
Being buzzled is fun for the short amount of time that it stays with you, and it helps ease the pain if you are sore from a hard or stressful day at work. Many people look forward to becoming buzzled as soon as they can get to a full service restaurant or even places like the Mills Av. Liquor Lounge, where they can find other people that are getting buzzled along with them. The best description of buzzled in pop culture has to be in Billy Joel’s song “Piano Man”, but some of his characters got a little more than buzzled as his story progressed. So for those of you who just got off work, and a looking to be buzzled, here you go…
The Lagsn. A symptom of a type of frustration that can happen whenever work or play involves dealing with the Internet. This is often caused by having a weak connection to the Net. It is more likely to happen in rural areas, since service providers tend to not take the needs of rural customers seriously, even though there might be that farmer’s daughter who is a geeky gamer, and spends her weekends playing World or Warcaft or Guild Wars. It can also happen at work when a credit/debit card line is being very slow due to overuse, especially at a business’ peak transaction time, such as a fast food or pizza place on a Friday night. This can also occur on various order-taking apparatus due to the same thing. Read more...(232 words, 1 image, estimated 56 secs reading time)
Princess (or Prince) Snobby-Snootsn. This person thinks he or she is of nobility, and will usually use any silly occasion to make themselves feel important. They could come through your gas station, local discount store, or fast food drive through, and if your computers are lagging or if you don’t set something up exactly the way they want to see it, they get all hoity-toity and pick apart every little thing they think you might be doing wrong. They could be impatient, or just particular, but they really don’t see thing from the other side. Even if they have, they forget about the unspoken rules of the service industry, like, “Do not anger the people serving or making your food.” or “Do not anger your hairdresser.” or anyone else whose business you are in. Regular people are here for the same reasons they are, but most of them are pretty cool and patient about sticking around during busy and difficult times. Prince or Princess Snobby-Snoot can be anyone from a toddler having a tantrum to an old coot that has a cranky disposition. Do your best to make sure these “nobles” are cleared from the space quickly, and the rest of your workday can go pretty smoothly.
