Fun Factor:★★★★☆

Amnesia The Dark Decent from Frictional Games is not for the feint of heart. The game says to play it in the dark with headphones on but be prepared for the worst if you do not. Anyone who is sensitive to motion or even emotions are going to be in for one sickening ride with this game. It will scare the vomit out of you as you are winding your way down dark corridors that BREATH. The walls look like they are breathing. The last time I saw that was when the pharmacy gave me the wrong prescription. This game looks like an acid trip gone horribly wrong and it will leave you disturbed for days after you have played it. This is definitely not a game for kids, that is unless you want them to crap their pants and puke all over the place. If your motion sensitive do not play it in the dark and if you want a truly gruesome experience play it with a room hooked up to full surround sound. Doing it like that is going to have you reeling in no time at all.

The concept of the game is simple, your name is Daniel and you took some kind of potion to wipe your memory. You don’t have a clue what is going on except for a note and some flashbacks every now and then. You have to find out what is going on and supposedly go and kill someone that is in the depths of the area you are at. Everything is dark, creepy and scary as hell and you can’t even fight back. You have to run and hide to survive. This isn’t a game of shoot first and ask questions later, no this is a game of seeing just how long you can stay alive and sane. This game reminds me of the RPG Call of Cthulhu in so many ways. You have to struggle to keep your sanity and keep your oil lamp lit. Stay in the light and stay out of the water or you just might find yourself dead and nauseous and have to start it all over again. This game will make you scream, it will make you cuss and might even make you puke at times. This is definitely not your run of the mill casual game and it just might make you keep your light on when you go to sleep tonight.

One thing is for sure, this game is going to have you seeing and experiencing some really weird stuff. It is not going to get out of your mind any time soon. Just the demo is enough to make you look at horror in a whole new light, or maybe the lack of light. This is a game that once you play it you are never NEVER going to forget it. Damn you Wil Wheaton and Felicia Day for talking about it and making me too curious about it. Its your fault that I am nauseous and scared to turn out the light. Its all your fault and there is nothing you can say that will change that fact. I hope the two of you dream about it :) Seriously this is one hell of a game and anyone who likes horror will be able to appreciate this gem of a game.
